autumn cards

I've been working on some seasonal autumn cards lately so I thought I'd show all of you a few tidbits! Enjoy (: Oh, and if you like what you see let me know. I am now selling handmade cards!

"delicious autumn! my soul is wedded to it and if i were a bird i would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."-george eliot

i think that's just such a lovely quote!

just a little thank you card (: oh! and also an owl friend
closeup of the owl. i'd say he's about 3 1/2 in x 5 in. i'm going to play around with the patterns and make tons more little owl friends. you can flip one over and jot a little note on the back for someone you love!"winter is an etching, spring a water color, summer an oil painting, and autumn a mosaic of them all." -stanley horowitz

the perfect card/quote for all you artists out there.

this one reads: "F is for fall, family, friends"that's all for now, lovelies. let me know if you like any of 'em and if you're interested at all (:

the little things

I hope your Sunday morning feels as magical as mine does. (: It's possible that "falling back" an hour has something to do with it, but I'm just sipping on some coffee and browsing through some super cute vintage jewelry on etsy. It really makes me want to go to the little downtown village area in Claremont. Just look how appealing the entrance to this vintage shop is which is located there:
Pondering around over there has made me realize I definitely have a few obsessions. I absolutely adore lockets, owls, and little birds. Combine them and it's even better, as these lockets from verabel's etsy shop prove. I just love the added touch of the tiny birdies (:

Don't even get me started on owls! Agh. It's definitely becoming a problem. Although, I own just one piece of owl jewelry. One of these rings is on my wish list from idle hands designs' etsy shop for sure though! And if you adore owls, it's probably on yours now as well. The shop also has tons of precious moustache jewelry (another admitted obsession that I've picked up lately).

In other news, here is a snippet of the painting I'm still working on.

You can't tell much from this picture, but I'll be done soon (:

Now that you've heard about my recent interests, what's been captivating you lately? (:

I just want to create.

I'm working on a painting tonight and my inspiration consists of:

where the wild things are

these cutesie aspects of nature

and my bestie (:

I have a feeling it's not going to turn out how I first planned, but I'm ok with that. I'll post pictures of it once I've given it to the intended recipient!

FALL in love

Hi loves!

I don't know about you, but I am absolutely thrilled that the fall weather has arrived. I have been drinking more tea lately and exploring different flavors. My newest favorite is Vanilla Hazelnut. I can't even explain to you how the two flavors balance each other out. Pure bliss!

BUT the more serious things get between tea and I, the more I realize I'm going to have to move on to loose leaf. I want to get a few of these adorable infusers which are heart shaped.

Soooooo cute!! Ahh!

So I pretty much spent my morning drinking tea and reading Native American legends (: It was quite lovely. Hopefully I'll finish a painting sometime this week and post some pics.

bye for now!

feathers, music, and dance parties

Much to my surprise, I am already posting an entry. Looks like I'm starting off on the right foot. As some of you may know, I travel to Kentucky about twice a year to visit family. While I was there this summer, I used some of my laid back days to start creating feather earrings. Here are my first pair!

On another note, I have been entirely obsessed with music lately. But then again, when am I not? The other day I was browsing cds and found Death Cab's first album. I was skeptical at first, but I have found that they have had their stuff together from the very beginning! My first Death Cab album was Transatlanticism, which I got about 5 years ago, and it holds a very dear spot in my heart. It was one of the first "real cds" I purchased. Meaning it wasn't anything related to Disney. I'm eternally grateful that my eyes were opened to such fantastic music in jr. high. Who knows what I'd be listening to otherwise. I have been playing "something about airplanes" almost nonstop in my car.

Easily enough, music leads into the topic of dancing. And along with my friends Lizz and Ryan, I had a dance party on Saturday night after going to the Eagle Rock Music Festival with a group of people. We danced on the counter and I must say that it was quite liberating. Although we aren't actually dancing in this picture (thankfully!), here is a little sample for you:

That's all I've got for you for now, dearies. Also, if you have a blog of your own, post a comment to let me know about it!

loves!

My first (and hopefully not last!) post

Hi everyone! I've realized lately that I have tons of creativity that wants to be released, but I hardly ever use it to its full potential! So, clearly I am the "Queen of Good Intentions". And now you know how I chose the title for my brand new blog without having to ask. I'm hoping that having this blog will keep me accountable to actually finish the crafty projects that I begin. What a concept! So, check back to see what I will be working on (and hopefully what I finish).

(:
